If you think your child is having difficulties or delays in the area of speech, language, and communication development, a conversation with your child’s pediatrician, day care provider and / or teacher is always a good place to start. These professionals are often very good at gauging your child's speech and language skills based on the development of other children the same age. Children vary in their development of speech and language; however, they typically follow a natural progression or timetable for mastering these skills.
